Low-Floor Highly Functional Bed for Care Facility
with Central Locking Casters and Lumbar Support Mechanism.
Applying JIS’s standard and knowledge gained through research on various accidents and near accidents, Ultilet ToU is designed to be a safe electronic care bed for caregiving facilities.
Using the 5 Motion Feature to lift the user’s back drastically alleviates back and abdominal pressure, and reduces the body from shifting.
In pursuit of a universal design, the bed also incorporates a hand remote for semi-paralyzed and injured users and the boards are uniquely shaped to improve gripping when walking.

* The Back/Knee interlocking motion that first lifts the legs is only available on the 2 Motors.
If the user’s knees are not properly positioned over the bending portion of the bed, the user’s body will slide towards the foot of the bed when lifting their back. Without having to customize the bed parts, the Ultilet ToU has two bending settings to adjust for the length of the user’s thighs, which prevents shifting and losing posture.
Pressing the back lifting button, the knees are raised before the back is raised. This “Quick and Easy Back/Knee Interlocking Motion” prevents the user’s body from sliding towards the feet and becomes easier to position yourself on the edge of the bed.
* ON/OFF Switchable
Lumbar function reduces compression in the user’s back and the feeling of being pulled down at the time of lifting back up. It can help reduce pain and compression and ensure a better comfort.
* ON/OFF Switchable
When the back is lifted, the bottom of buttocks leans automatically. This helps the user straighten one’s pelvis and prevent unwanted sliding.
Sliding the user’s lower back 2cm back while raising the upper half of the body reduces pressure on the abdomen and back. This special back lifting feature is designed to shift pressure from the user’s abdomen to their shoulders. Simply inserting a hand behind the user’s shoulders will drastically reduce the pressure.
2cm Slide
Warning
Compression on the back created by back lifting may cause a breathing trouble.
* Users who cannot move their own body should be especially cautious of pressure on their backs.
Safety Space between the Slats of a Side Rail to Prevent from Getting Stuck or Hurt.
Warning
While the gap between the side rails are designed so as not to get the user’s head caught lifting up the back when having an arm or leg between the rails (as in the picture) will cause a broken bone.
Optional Safety Covers are available.
Side Rail with a Safety Cover PA501-TU119
Lift Position
Lower Position
Warning
Patients with cardiac incompetency should not raise the legs higher than the heart.
Note
When lying down, the body’s internal organs extend and put pressure on the lungs, which reduces lung capacity.
This can lead to feeling short of breath. Using the back lifting feature, internal organs will return to their normal position and alleviate pressure on the lungs.
The bed shifts 8cm towards the foot of the bed when raising and lowering the bed. The headboard, however, remains in the same position regardless of if the bed is at its minimum height of 25cm off the floor or at the maximum height of 59cm off the floor. Therefore, the head of the bed can be placed close to the wall.
Precautions for Installation
When the bed moves up-and-down, a part in the foot end moves in an arc of 8cm towards the foot end.
When you place the bed with the foot end facing the wall, please allow a space of over 11cm between the bed and the wall.
The framework is designed to make locking the bed easy from the middle, right, and left. Being able to easily lock the bed regardless of its position reduces the strain on caregivers.
Side Rail Storage Holder
Hole to attach I.V. stand
Hook for a urine bag
If the rail holder is retractable, a wheelchair can be placed close to the bed and the patient can easily move from bed to the wheelchair. The optional Long Side Rail PA501-TU119 can be “inserted in the middle”. When the middle side rail holder is not being used, it can be stored away so it is not in the way during transfer.
Easy to operate with a weak grip
Easy to hang on the side rails
The round shaped bar edge indicates the end of the bar and are easy to grab
The surface of the board uses EB Coating
Applied EB coating that is strong to scratch, dirt, sunlight
Ultilet ToU’s motor is quiet and water resistant(IPX4)*
* IPX4 indicates the waterproof protection standard against spraying water at all angles
